OUR MISSION
The Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting economic and industrial development and to enhancing the professional, cultural and civic environment in the community.


CHAMBER ACTIVITIES AND COMMITTEE OPPORTUNITIES
Membership in the Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce provides numerous opportunities for business promotion, networking, and service to the community. The true lifeblood of the Chamber is the work of the committees. Chamber committees plan, organize and promote special events, examine and evaluate legislative and governmental issues, and help shape the climate of the business community and overall lifestyle of the entire community.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
Monthly event sponsored by individual members providing opportunities for interaction within the membership in an informal social atmosphere. Opportunities for individual members to show off their place of business or products and services they provide. Relaxing setting for enjoyable fellowship and conversation.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
"LEADERSHIP RANTOUL"

Annual program's objectives are: to identify potential community leaders from all areas of Rantoul; educate potential leaders regarding Rantoul's history, opportunities and challenges; and build a network of community contacts that include current community leaders.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Promotes good relationships between local businesses and schools in an effort to strengthen the curriculum and programs within the educational system; and enriches and expands educational opportunities in both the school system and the business community.

4TH OF JULY COMMITTEE AND ACTIVITIES
Participates on the various subcommittees associated with activities taking place on the 4TH, including, but not limited to entertainment, gate attendants, parade, fireworks, etc.

GOLF OUTING
Enjoyable event for the entire membership to socialize in a pleasant environment with emphasis on fun rather than competition. Relaxing day of golf followed by a pleasant meal and social time with lots of prizes and fun.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Focuses on proposed legislation and government activities affecting the business community. Provides direction to the Board as to what action might be necessary to make known the Chamber's position to appropriate governmental agencies and legislators. Establishes a rapport with legislators and/or government officials both locally and nationally and organizes meetings with those individuals either locally or in Springfield.

INDUSTRIAL COUNCIL
Promotes communication between the various industries in the Chamber, as well as between industries and the rest of the business community. Provides opportunities for the different industries to share concerns and successes. Promotes understanding from the overall business community of specific industry related issues. Provides a vehicle to generate projects which would benefit the collective industries as well as enhance the overall quality of life in the community.

RANTOUL REVITALIZATION COMMITTEE
Develops and implements strategic plans to make the business areas vibrant and successful through building rejuvenation and occupancy, promotional activities and area enhancements. Instills pride in the community and improves the overall quality of life by enhancing the business area.

WELCOME AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Reaches new residents by welcoming them with a personal visit from the Welcome Ambassador. Provides an opportunity for members to be introduced to new residents.
